Saturday we made it out to the beach for a few hours. It was such a beautiful day!
Princess buried her daddy's feet in the sand.
The water was really cold, but Prince still got in. I'm sure that probably makes me a bad mommy, but he had fun.
Saturday was also my dad's birthday. Happy birthday Daddy!
I am so thankful that God gave me such an awesome and amazing Daddy! He has always been there for me and would do anything to help anybody. To know him is to love him and I am so glad that my kids have him for a Grandaddy.
After going to church and out ot lunch today, we came home to get some things done around the house. I also took the kids back over to my parents' house to so they could help Grandma with her new garden. Last week she asked each of the grandkids to choose what they would like to come plant and be responsible for in the garden. So today was planting day.
Check out Princess' planting outfit. Can you tell she picked it out herself? She chose to plant broccoli. Broccoli is probably her all time favorite veggie.Prince chose carrots.
My nephews planted watermelons, more carrots, and greenbeans. Grandma picked other veggies for us to help plant too and it was great fun.
Grandma and Princess spent a lot of time at the garden this afternoon planting and watering after everyone else had determined they were done. Princess says she is hoping to have a green thumb like her grandma. She doesn't get it from her Mama, that's for sure. I have a hard enough time remembering to feed and water my kids, much less the plants. My father-in-law can grow anything. Perhaps she'll inherit those genes and be very good at growing fruits and veggies.
As Hubby and I sit and watch the Oscars tonight, I am realizing how out of touch I am that I haven't seen many of these movies at all. Wow, having kids will do that to you I guess. Well, I have seen Toy Story 3, go figure. We actually did see The King's Speech and liked it very much. OK, signing off to watch the awards with Hubby. Good night!
The beach?!! Lucky you! We STILL have snow on the ground. On the bright side we didn't add any this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe've seen almost all the movies this year...first time in a long time. Having grown up kids will do that to you: )
I saw a few of the movies mentioned tonight. Some I never heard of. It's hit and miss, even for the singles crowd. So happy for Colin Firth. Such a great movie and he was fantastic. That movie sure did rake Wallis Simpson over the coals though!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, yes it's been up to 85 here during the day.
ReplyDeleteWe loved The King's Speech. So glad it won.
awesome garden!
